Kat von D. went topless for a “casting” call, but not the type of casting call you may think. Kat actually took off her top and had a plaster cast of her breasts made as part of a new project.
The cast, which is the complete replica of Kat’s upper torso and breasts, is now painted by world renown German artist Mimi S. She did such an intricate and meticulous job of painting on Kat’s breast cast that it made it into an unbelievable piece of artwork.
Kat von D. joined other female musicians, artists and actresses who also went topless and got casted, all for a good cause. Artists from all over the world painted the casts. These beautiful pieces of art will be part of the “Keep a Breast” show, which opens August 12th at the Strychnin Gallery.
"Keep the Breast" is a youth-based breast cancer organization, which is benefiting from this show. Kat’s thrilled with her participation in this great cause and appears on the website for the gallery in the cast, and then posing with the cast once it was dry and unclamped from her.
